This archive is dedicated to the InuYasha Yaoi. Therefore, fictions that focus on heterosexual pairings are not accepted. Below, we've compiled a few examples of what we consider acceptable and unacceptable fiction for this site.

A) Stories told from any IY character's individual perspective.

B) Stories that focus on yaoi pairings in addition to heterosexual pairings. However, the main focus must be on the yaoi.

C) Crossovers that feature the InuYasha Yaoi pairings with characters from another manga/anime.

However, there are conditions with these types of fictions:

1. The InuYasha couples must be given equal, or greater, screen time in comparison to any other couples in the story.

2. Characters from InuYasha must be given equal, or greater, screen time in comparison to any other characters from the visiting manga/anime.

A) Plagiarized or "Cobbled" stories. (1)

A) Stories, poems, or drabbles that do not meet the set guidelines above.

B) Diaries/journals, rants, quizzes, open letters, and the like.

D) Original fiction and stories bogged down with "Mary Sue/Billy Bob" characters.

1. A "cobble fic" is a story with a plot that was blatantly lifted from another author, and then posted as your own original work. It is a shallow form of plagiarism and frowned upon on this site.

Please note: We reserve the right to remove any story that we feel violates our rules or attempts to covertly promote other pairings. If you're confused about a story you want to post, contact an administrator before you submit it to this archive.

There are two ways to post to The Boiler Room archive as seen below.

1. Uploading .HTML or .TXT docs.
2. Copying/Pasting text into the content box provided on the upload page.

TinyMCE is an editing tool we have added to assist people that do not know how to use HTML coding. This editor allows you to add certain formatting styles such as bold, italics, underlines and spacing.

To turn this editor ON or OFF follow these instructions:

1. Click on your Account Info.

2. Scroll down to Edit Preferences.

3. Check/Uncheck the TinyMCE box.

4. Hit submit.

That will turn the editor either ON or OFF completely.

Featurettes: Oneshots.

Sagas: Short stories -12 chapters or less.

Epics: Full length fictions -Over 12 chapters.

Please note: Uploaded chapters have a site maximum of 10,000 words.

1) Every fiction must be accompanied by a visible disclaimer claiming no rights to any borrowed characters, lyrics, poetry, and so on. Ignoring this rule will result in a Terms of Service violation.

4) Please use decent grammar and spelling in your fictions.

5) Embedded audio files and/or links to copyrighted music are not allowed.

6) Do not post personal photos, manga scans, anime/movie stills, or any other copyrighted imagery.

6B) Award banners are allowed on chapters only. They must not exceed 500x200 and must be self-hosted.
One award per chapter, and no adult imagery please.

7) Please practice proper "netiquette" when adding story notes and responding to reviews. Do not spam/harass your readers for feedback.

8) Posting author notes or leaving reviews that instruct members to harass the ED staff will result in an immediate 60 day suspension.

9) Please refrain from posting active links in your summaries, author/story notes, or within the context of your fiction. We will disable them and revoke your validation.

10) Authors are not allowed to change the default settings of this site. That means you will not tamper with the color of the font. To do so is a Terms of Service violation.

11) The Boiler Room has a "3-strike" policy. If our TOS is violated three separate times, we reserve the right to remove you, and your fiction, from this website. So, please, if you're confused about anything, no matter how small, contact an administrator for help.

These rules are not negotiable and are subject to change without notification. Therefore, it is the member's responsibility to keep up to date.
